Evidence-A Body of Original Fine Art Images

The global purpose of this project is to create, frame, and exhibit new work in juried venues for the advancement of my career as a visual artist. The basic process involves the creation of new photographs within the constructed still life series “Evidence” as well as the printing, framing and shipping of individual images for entrance into juried exhibitions. Lastly, the creation of a viable, online presence will be a critical component for obtaining recognition in my field. My works will be able to be easily found using modern search methods along with my CV, Bio, and award winning images.

The detailed shooting process involves finding photographic props located in antique stores throughout the southwest Michigan area, composing the props, professionally lighting the set, and photographing in the studio. The postproduction process and compositing involves Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and the VSCO Plugin, which are critical aspects in the creation of new photographic work. Images would be printed on archival photographic rag paper using pigmented inksets, then professionally matted and framed.

The main objective of this proposal is to finish and exhibit a body of work that began 4 years ago. The exhibition of a wide range of my work in juried competitions would significantly enhance my academic credibility. Several of the individual images have been published, but it is my ultimate goal to finish the body of work for exhibition as a complete series.
